Colorado tops WVU in OT

WVU drops consecutive games for the first time since 2003. Not much to say after another devastating loss.

What are your thoughts on the game…and the future of the Mountaineers in 2008.

As a grad of WVU (’76), I’ve watched the highs and lows for years. This game could have been won with the running game plan continued instead of resorting to a trick play, no matter how open Sanders was. Colorodo felt back in control as of a result. The lost time at the end of regulation did not bother me since I thought WVU could travel 25 yards and keep the Buffs out of the endzone during OT. When it looked like a field goal was necessary, run to the center of the field instead of leaving a sharp angle for the kick. The end zone camera foretold the problem in the upright pole covered the holder and kicker from my view.

Stewart is not presenting confidence on the field as he did in Arizona in the Bowl. He looks confused and dismayed when times are tough. At the OT time out, he appeared to be walking away from the team instead of in their faces extolling them to victory. Perhaps our battle cry should be “Remember the Fiesta” to inspire the coach!

“KEEP THE PRESSURE UP EERS” We all waited holding our breaths to see what the year would look like. The football team wanted a nice man to be their coach - other’s just used their emotions after the Fiesta Bowl - coach’s around the country adore the man and wanted to see him get another shot at head coach.

The offense is not clicking at all - Pat White passing is non-existent and the wide receivers don’t block downfield nor do they catch the ball very well - actually the offensive line has forgot how to block. The defense is beginning to learn to tackle again - that’s a positive. We have to keep the pressure up on Stewart and the coaching staff. WAY UP. More pressure on Stewart and his coaching staff and they’ll get off their butts and maybe light a fire under the these athletes who wanted a coach that wouldn’t be hard on them. Stewart and his staff have fielded a veteran team (most the defense had adequate playing time last year) that is grossly underperforming for the third consecutive game.
KEEP THE PRESSURE UP ON STEWART - DON’T LET HIM HAVE A MINUTE REST
His performance is unacceptable and we still have the athletes to win any game.

The 3-3-5 defense has to go. Everyone knows you need to stop the run first in college football. I understand we have a weak secondary, but you can’t let a team run and pass on you whenever they want to.

After watching the game last night and my a huge WVU fan we made a big mistake in hiring Bill Stewart has the head football coach if any body so the last two minutes OF THAT GAME YOU WOULD AGREE WITH ME.

Our program took a big step backward last night.

Pat White & Bill Stewart ought to leave wvu football, they make them look terrible.

It is easy to see how the team has been tweeked to perfection.
    Whats the matter offensive line..????

Logan in defensive secondary????…can catch & hold on to the ball and excellent blocker as a wideout
last season…hmmmm guess Tito is better?????

Bill Stewart in the last two minutesof the game…CLUELESS

Need some more tweeking on a upper tier football program…I do hope we win more than seven games

As a life long mountaineer fan that is embedded right in the middle of the SEC (Marietta, Ga) I’m lost for words on coach and senior game control in the last minutes of the Colorado game. No one seemed to want to take the responsibility of leading the eers to victory when it was placed in our laps. Coach Stu step up - take control - be a leader of an outstanding football team. This lack of controlled closure to win a non-conference game creates concern when we go against Marshall. GO EERS Coach Stu step up or move aside.

  10. Comment from MIKE on September 26th, 2008 :

Bill may be a nice man BUT he should of never been hired. REPLACE HIM SOON. HE WAS HIRED WITH EMOTIONS.
WVU IS A WINNING SCHOOL. WE DONT NEED TO GO BACKWARDS.
THE COACH FROM WAKE FOREST SHOULD BE FIRED NOW.
